who am i? why am i here?

Travis Barnes is an artist, filmmaker, and educator living in Dallas, TX. His clients have included Disney, Peter Millar, McKesson, The Boys & Girls Club, EarthX, One Day In My Body, Best Buddies, The Cowboy Channel, Gordon Foods, Toyota, & The Golden Globes. He’s been pointing cameras at things since sometime in the late 90s.

His work has been featured at The Oak Cliff Film Festival, The Mesa International Film Festival, The Lion’s Head Film Festival, The Tyler Film Festival, The Crossroads of Texas Film Festival, KERA’s Frame of Mind, NBC 5, RFDTV, The Cowboy Channel, and on The Golden Globes social media accounts.

He has taught for The University of North Texas, Grand Canyon University, The Arts Institute, and Texas Christian University.

He can often be found at various art sales in the DFW area, scowling at you for not buying one of his paintings.

When he’s not working a freelance gig, teaching, or painting, he’s running his record label, Things From Beyond.

He holds a BA and MFA, both in filmmaking.

Henry Rollins, Trent Reznor, and Ali Wong have all given him dirty looks, but Adam Sandler and Felicity Jones were actually really nice to him.

He is also a Veteran of the US Army’s 3rd Infantry Division.
